Why Cloth Diapers?
Cloth diapers save money!
Cloth diapers will help you save a lot of money when compared to the cost of disposable diapers. Most parents go through 6000 - 8000 diapers per child, from birth through potty training. If we take an average of what those diapers cost, that equates to between $3000 and $4000 per baby. In comparison, a stash of 36-48 cloth diapers to last for three years will usually cost between $200 to $500. Even after factoring in the costs of detergent and energy used by laundering, reusables will still cost much less than disposable diapers.
Cloth diapers are better for baby’s bum!
By choosing cloth diapers you are limiting your child’s exposure to these toxic chemicals. Babies in cloth benefit from more air circulation, less build-up of high temperatures, and are less susceptible to rashes. Especially for babies with sensitive skin, cloth diapers are super soft and gentle on your little one.
Cloth diapers are best for the environment!
A typical child uses about 6000 - 8000 disposable diapers from birth through potty training. That means 27.4 billion disposable diapers fill up our landfills every year. Meanwhile, each of those disposable diapers will take up to 500 years to de-compose in your local landfill. If we want to reduce, re-use and recycle, then cloth diapers are the logical choice!
